HEX definitely includes PvP matches, but during my visit, we focused on the other side of the game: PvE, which grows in this week's patch from just matches against the computer to an entire campaign. In fact, the developers call it an MMOTCG, because there's a lot more to it than just buying packs of digital cards and playing matches against faceless strangers.

Certain provinces are steeped in rich flora and fauna, others represent dry and sandy desert settings, which not only alter the look and ambience of the playing field, but can have an impact on the gameplay itself.Īfter creating their characters, players receive a starter deck matching their chosen race, plus a large selection of cards.
